Welcome to Momtog! One year ago today I became a mom. A mom to the most beautiful, funny, and intellegent baby boy I have ever met. He has changed my life in more ways than I can comprehend. Everything I do I do for him. As the owner of a successful photography business I had to make changes in order to keep my business running and be the mom I want to be. This year has been a year to figure out how to do that. It hasn’t been easy, but I’m finally at a place where I think I am able to do both well. I’ve found what works for me.Â
A Momtog is a Mom who is a photographer. You don’t have to be a professional photographer. You just have to love photography! I’ve started this blog as a way to connect with other moms and as a place where I can blog about all things “mommy”. Here, I will share photography tips with the non professional photographer moms, tips on how to run a successful photography business with you professional photographer moms, as well as lots of other mommy related things. I also hope to have some fun photography contests and interviews with photographer moms who inspire me. There will be a little something for everyone! So, please visit often. I would love to hear comments and feedback if you’re finding the blog useful. And feel free to send me an email if there is a topic you would like covered!

Drew, this is awesome! What a great idea! I’m so glad you are doing this. I don’t know if you remember me…we emailed back and forth about a year ago when I was asking you about tips on shooting while pregnant and how to plan ahead with booking weddings while TTC. I guess your new blog has forced me to de-lurkify (is that even a word) myself. I’m a huge fan of your work. I found your blog through Jessica Claire a while back and have been hooked ever since. The way your capture people and emotion is so beautiful. You are truly talented!
I’m fairly new to this photography world and love all that I’m learning. I just had my 4th baby a few months and the juggling act tends to get overwhelming at times so it will be nice to hear from another photographer mom how you juggle work and being a mommy too.
Thanks for back drop tips. I have used a black back drop in the past and have not been happy with the results. I probably shot during the wrong time of day. I’ll be sure to try again with something brighter and during a different time and maybe post some pics-if I get the courage.

On a serious note, I learned of your work when you were pregnant and I have followed you and Brayden ever since. It is encouraging to see how much you enjoy and delight in him. He looks like he would be a ton of fun! And starting a little corner of the world for Mother’s is appreciated.
