New Fabric

Happy Friday and happy first day of Spring!

I don’t really have a great post for today.  I have 4 shoots this week and I was too busy watching UCLA try to lose in their first March Madness game last night.  Thankfully Brayden was our good luck charm and we won by 1 point.  I hope all the games aren’t like that!

Anyways, I went and bought a couple of new fabrics for a mini shoot that I did yesterday.  I had to have B model this one for me.  It’s a brown damask, which I thought was really original, but it kind of shows up like black.  Brayden’s super cute onsie is from My Little Dear.  I love her clothes!

And I also got this cute pink and white polka dot.  I didn’t make Brayden model this one, because I had this cute baby come over for a mini session!  Isn’t she scrumptious?  More on the DrewB blog!  Both fabrics are from JoAnne’s!  Have a great weekend!

Love the new fabrics. I just recently bought one that looks like the background of this blog and didn’t realized until I checked out your blog a couple nights later. I guess I subconsciously had you on the brain. ;) It also reminds me of the fabric in the last picture.

I love your blog and your photography! The tip about the backgrounds is ingenius! I went to JoAnn’s yesterday to check out their fabrics. Now I’m waiting for a 40% off coupon to arrive in my mailbox. They have a black & white damask I am DROOLING over!

btw, Brayden is adorable! My 6 & 9 yr olds don’t pose as well as he does.

I have been reading the blog for a couple month and love all the ideas/advice you share. I try most everything you suggest out on my 11month old. I wish I would have found you in his earlier months! On what are the babies sitting on? Is it just a rug or fluffy blanket?

Hi there! I was wondering what type of fabric the babies are sitting on? Did you get it from JoAnn’s as well? Thanks!

  11. admin says:

    Hi Ruth Ann,

I don’t remember where I got it, but I’m sure you can find it at JoAnn’s and I’m sure there are tons of different things you can use to put your own spin on it :)

I love these fabrics. how much do you purchase for your backgrounds? thanks for the info on this, I would never have thought of using fabric as a background.

Where do you store the fabric so that it doesn’t wrinkle? I have a clothes rack that I can use as a backdrop stand, but it would be nice if I could hang multiple fabrics up against the wall so that they wouldn’t wrinkle? I was thinking perhaps hanging two hooks from the ceiling and then have clips on each end of the fabric? I HATE ironing :)

The baby girl infront of the pink polka dots is the cutest thing I’ve ever seen. I LOVE chubby babies, but she takes the cake.

This is the first time I’ve seen your blog. I found you through Kelly’s Korner! You are now officially saved in my favorites websites. I am a photographer, I started when I had my first little boy. Now I have two boys and I’m doing my best to make this a business fulltime. I’m a really blessed and get work on a regular basis. I’m going to definitly use some of you tips. Keep them coming!!!
Thanks for sharing your information with the world!!!
I’m sure this won’t be the last time you hear from me!
