Spreading the Love – Week 10
Thanks for the love this week, ladies! I totally appreciate it!
Yesterday I had a shoot with Baby Oliver (who is just the cutest, by the way). I’ve read on a few photographers blogs that they use a macro lens for their baby shoots so I thought I would give it a try. I love my macro. I have the Canon 100mm 2.8. It’s great for details at weddings, but I had honestly not thought to use it on babies. I loved it though! I didn’t get as close as I would have liked because Oliver was an active little dude, but I still love the results. Here are two taken with my macro. You can see the rest from his shoot on the DrewB blog!

Beautiful photos!!!! LOVELY

Are all these pics taken with natural light or do you every use a flash? At what time of day are you taking these pics?

I also LOVE using my new 50mm f/1.4 wide open on newborns. The results are amazing! I have found the macro is best used on sleeping infants to get all that precious peach fuzz detail.

All natural light. I never use flash for portraits. My house gets the best light around 10:30.
These are amazing! So sharp! What a cute little boy too!

These are great! I’m partial to those beautiful blues. I shared your site with my readers in hopes that others could benefit from your great tips. I’m in no way a professional, but with your help I’m a work in progress! Now I just need to find the time to actually practice with apeture, light, etc. It’s so addictively fun! Thanks for all your help.

Beautiful pictures!!!! How do you get all your shots so SHARP/crisp!?!? Even the pics I think are really in focus end up not nearly as crisp as yours. Do you sharpen for the web? Here’s a shot I was proud of, taken with light, mid morning from a south-facing window. I look at it, then look at your and don’t know what I should do to get it as sharp as yours!
