Whatever lens you decide to go with remember to protect it. Â UV filters will protect your lens from scratches, dust, and weather. Â It’s much better to scratch a $40 filter than a $1400 lens. Â Filters vary in price depending on your lens. Â Make sure to just get a UV filter and not a colored filter that will alter the look of your images!

seriously best purchase I ever made! Especially when shooting little ones who are very interested in the camera and before you know it they are coming at you, hand outstretched…and because your at your wide angle you don’t realize that their cute sticky fingers are about to…opps, they already smudged it!

Sing it sister! I don’t even leave the store with a new lens with out a brand spankin’ new uv filter!
Terrific advice! We also don’t leave the camera store without a UV Filter on our lenses. I actually don’t think our shop sells them without.

Girl, I am glad to see you post about this. I always always keep a filter on my lens, but I have heard that some photogs do not… thanks for sharing your thoughts on it! Makes me feel much better!

If I wanted to order a filter off line how would I know which one to buy? Thanks for all of your tips!
I found your blog through Julie over at Joy’s Hope. I am in LOVE with this blog. I just recently decided to take the plunge and have a photography business! Scary, but exciting. I am eating up all this wonderful information. Thank you
