Over here at the Bittel house we are very much enjoying having a backyard this Summer. Â At our hold house we had a backyard, but it wasn’t very child safe and I’m not even sure Brayden really knew it existed. Â But, as soon as we moved into this house “outside” quickly became one of his favorite words. Â
Earlier this summer we went to play with one of B’s BFF’s, Dakota, and she had this super cool water table. Â B loved it. Â Like played with it for an hour straight and didn’t pay attention to anything else. Â So, I knew I had to find one. Â Well, that’s easier said than done. Â Toys ‘R Us was sold out. Â The manufacturers website was sold out. Â Amazon was sold out. Â Costco had it, but we don’t have a Costco membership. Â I looked everywhere. Â I now know how my Grandma felt when she had to find the ever allusive Cabbage Patch Kid doll for Christmas of ’84. Â Except I think the internet made my search a little easier.
About a month later I finally got an email from Step 2′s website saying that the item was in stock! Â We got it right in time for our move and B has been loving his water table ever since. Â It’s great because it has a faucet that recycles the water and he will spend almost an hour washing dishes, dumping water out, and drinking the water. Â Who doesn’t love a little hose water in the Summer? Â It was the best $49.99 plus shipping and handling I’ve ever spent.
What is your kids favorite summer toy?

I love how the sun is shining through on the first picture. I haven’t seen one of those water tables, but looks fun! Ella’s favorite toy would probably be balls or rocks. She loves to sort and move rocks from one place to another.
My little girl has a water table too and loves it! Great pictures. I love the bright colors and the joy in each picture.
Lovely pictures! Love the backlighting! This toy looks great. I will have to try to find one for Kayden. He loves playing with the hose, so I’m sure this would be a big hit.
Awwww, these photos are great, and they really capture the pure joy that he gets out of it. I’m so happy you were finally able to get one. Now if we could just get a playdate together soon!!
Sydney, Kendall and I were checking out these pictures of B. They TOTALLY want him to come over and play (but Kendall says he probably needs to stay away from the breakable stuff!)
The girls wanted you and B to know that their favorite outside toy would have to be their swingset — and they of course want Brayden to come over and play on it!
My son has the one with the watermill. He loves it. Your son’s shorts are too cute!
cute cute…
♥ ac
I am on it!! Reese would love this!! Love the shots!
Great idea! I was wondering what type of water toy would be good for my little guy who is 13 months. I found this on Amazon tonight and ordered it! thanks for the idea!
Oh so cute!!! Kennedy dosen’t really have a favorite ‘summer’ toy due to the fact that she stays in the AC most of the time because of her helmet, which we hope to have off next week! yay!
Mya loves her “bouncy ball”! That’s how she travels throughout the house day in and day out. It was the cheapest toy I bought for her and the most used. It’s basically an inflatable bubble/ball with a handle on it. The kids would sit on it and hold on to the handle while they bounce all over the place with it. You should get one for Brayden when his legs are long enough!
My kid: knives, guns, swords, general weapons of mass destruction.
Beautiful shots Drew. Bright and oh so Happy.
I had a technical question. Do you spot meter everytime before a shoot? Your amazing! Thank you for this website.
