I maybe could have come down to 400 and lowered my shutter speed, but with a camera like the 5D Mark II you're not going to get noise until you are shooting at 1200 or 1600. With a camera like the Rebel you will get noise at a much lower ISO. You always want to shoot at the lowest ISO possible, but with my camera the difference between 400 and 500 is very little so I really wasn't that careful about it. 500 isn’t really that high of an ISO for indoor shots and it was an overcast day outside. It is my understanding that the higher the ISO the grainier the photo. It doesn't look like you didnt have enough light for a lower ISO. I am trying to learn as much as possible about photography and if you could explain this to me that would be great!
