Happy Halloween!
Normally this is where I would post a super cute picture of Brayden in his Halloween costume. Brayden smiling in his costume next to his pumpkin or posing with his trick or treat bag. No. Not this year. My child refuses to wear a costume. I thought for sure he would love the lion costume because all he does all day is “roar”. So, fine. I get it. He doesn’t want the lion head on. It’s constricting. Fine. So, I bought him a train conductor outfit. Because when he’s not “roaring” he’s “choo chooing”. About a week ago I started to get him used to it by dressing him in it in the morning. Not even mentioning that it’s a costume. Just pretended like it was his normal clothes. No. He wants nothing to do with the train conductor costume. I’ve tried. For a week. It’s a no go. So, instead of posting a super cute picture of my Brayden. I’m posting a picture of his two Halloween costumes that will not be worn today. How sad is this.

I’m hoping that when he sees his friends in costume tonight he will want to put one of his costumes on. We shall see. I’m not going to hold my breath. If worse comes to worse he will have to be a UCLA football player. Or he’ll just be super cute Brayden. Will he grow out of this phase? I hope so! I love Halloween too much!
I hope your Halloween is great and that all of your little ones look super cute and let you take pictures of them! Happy shooting!

Aww so sad that he won’t wear them! They are so cute!
Never fear. I am now on my third little boy. They’ve all gone through the no costume phase, and they’ve all grown out of it too
We have a dress up box the size to match any little princess now, although we have eye patches and swords instead of tutus and tiaras. They wear costumes almost as often as they wear regular clothes.

Oh no! I know you are bummed! Well, the custom’s are adorable… wish we could see him in them. I haven’t even tried Kennedy’s on her yet, mmm, kind of nervous now! haha!
I’m in the same boat. So you’re not alone. My 16 mos. costume is as close to his regular clothes as possible. I’ll keep my fingers crossed for both you and me! And don’t worry. When he is older, you will get specific requests for halloween costumes. My 4 year old is going to be a bag of M&M’s (his ideal!).
hopefully he changes his mind, if not super cute Brayden will work
Mines to small to put up a fight this year

Don’t give up hope!
My son (16 months) was refusing every time I tried to put on his Halloween outfit (chick suit that was a bit yellow puffy ball with a head and tights). I even tried resorting to just the puffy ball part, but he kept melting down and screaming no. Well, we had a parade at this daycare this week, and with all the commotion and kids dressed up, he wore it with no problem for an hour! I would have NEVER thought he would have worn it, so you never know! Good luck!
Our group of mommy friends had the same thing – none of the kids wanted to wear their costumes. We had the munchkins put on each others’ outfits, and then all of the sudden they got jealous and wanted to put their own back on. Toddlerhood is all about the mind tricks
Happy Halloween, Drew!
Bribe him with a little chocolate Drew!
And this is why my 19 month old is simply wearing a shirt that has Muno from Yo Gabba Gabba on it, well and jeans. LOL. He’s so not into anything costume, and I figured it’d be my safest (cheapest) bet!
And hey, super cute Brayden is always a winning idea!

Bummer! What a stinker! But, it is a memory you will most certianly laugh about down the road!

Sylvia

He WILL outgrow it, I promise. Kendall was the same way. I remember when she was 3… she insisted on being Deigo. I paid a fortune for the costume and she refused to wear it. We had a stand off that lasted a few hours. She finally relented. She still is a pain about dressing up, but once she does she’s good to go!
