8 x 12 Is The New 8 x 10

After reading my post on cropping a lot of people asked where they could get 8 x 12 prints.  A lot of smaller, mom and pop, photo labs will print 8 x 12 prints.  I have a local printer that I go to when I’m in a jam and he will print any size I need.  If you’re local in north Orange County, Fullerton Photo is a good lab that will print them.  And it’s a super cute place to hang out too!  Apparently Costco prints 8 x 12 prints too.

I checked with our newest sponsor, Color Inc Pro Lab, and they also print 8 x 12’s.  Check them out!  There’s no minimum order and if you use the promo code “Tag10″ you get 10 free 4 x 6 prints!  Score!

And just in case you are wondering, I’m so over this weather.  We officially have cabin fever!  I have a new found respect for people with kids who have to suffer through real winters.  We’ve had 3 days of rain and have 2 more left until we see the sun.  If we just had a BASEMENT then we could have a great big play room.  I really want a basement.  I get so jealous that the rest of the country gets basements.  I see all these rad houses with basements on HGTV and I really want one.  But, then I would probably never go in my basement because I would be scared of earthquakes.  Okay, I’m getting off topic here.  I tried to teach B that jumping in puddles was fun, but he didn’t get it.  He jumped this one time and then was over it.  He said it was too cold and then ran back inside.  Wimps, I tell you!  We have very thin blood here.

While you are jealous of our basements, we non-california types are jealous of your 90% beautiful and temperate weather year round :) The grass is always greener!

I’ve lived in Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina and do like the fact that we see seasons change. It even snows 1-2 times a year here since we are so close to the NC mountains. But yes, its NOT fun to have weeks or months of 30 and 40 degree weather that no one wants to go outside in. And I have to remember that my friends in Minnesota are dealing with months of -20 degree days. The grass is always greener!

You can get 8X12’s at Costco here in New Mexico.

basements really aren’t that great. they typically reflect the weather that’s outside in some small way. if it’s cold and damp outside, so is the basement. they’re uncomfortable and dark and even fully finished basements eventually leak. basements are no fun…when it’s hot outside, the basement is usually a cool retreat, but when it’s hot outside it’s usually too nice to hide in a basement all day anyways!

I am SOOOOOOO glad you posted about this!!! I’m hoping the 8×12 will now take on the world by storm! Love it sooooooo much better! : )

I have a basement but not a finished one! SIGH……

Get B some cool rain boots and I bet he would have a great time! My little diva has frog boot but you can get all kinds! Target has a good selection!

sorry, I’m not shedding any tears for you and your few days of rain. I’ve been socked in with a nasty inversion that makes the air so yucky we don’t even want to go outside plus no new snow means the old snow is hard and no fun to play in anyways so we’re camping out inside which is driving me insane if you can’t tell. Luckily it snowed last night so at least I get to shovel the driveway today. Doesn’t it sound bad when shoveling the driveway is something you look forward to?

  7. Can your adorable little B come over and teach my Men (they are 2 & 4) about puddles PLEASE! I can’t make it to the car dry if there is a puddle anywhere in site. The little one particularly, loves to lean over and put his head in the puddles! Being a kid is rough!

I’m not a big character fan, but I let my mom buy my 3 yr old son his Batman boots-he thinks they are the coolest thing since sliced bread, and they are “awesome” (as he says) when you jump in puddles! :)

Hey at least you got this great pix before he was done! I love it! I can’t wait to get Kennedy in a pair of cute rain boots and an umbrella in the rain when she is a bit older!

With 4 kids and the LONG winter of 2008-2009, I about went stir-crazy, too. To keep me sane;), we finished our basement last year and I have been SO thankful for it in the last several months.

BTW–my new goal is to try and educate my clients that 8×12 are best. I have never really liked the 8×10 crop ratio!
