Dear Brayden,
This is it. Â This is the last of your monthly birthdays. Â After this month you are two. Â Not 24 months. Â Not 25 months. Â You will just be two. Â Then two and a half and then three. Â Does that mean I can’t write you monthly letters anymore? Â No, I don’t think I’ll let that stop me.
This month you have turned into a little comedian. Â You’ve always been funny, but this month you’ve gotten even funnier. Â I’m pretty sure you get it from me because, you know, I’m pretty funny too
Last week on our way home from Disneyland, totally out of the blue you said, “Oh, man!”.  Your Dad and I just looked at each other and started laughing to hard.  You said it with the right inflection and everything.  When you really want to get me to laugh you’ll start calling me “Mom” instead of “Mama”.  You know that makes me so mad, but I can’t help but laugh!  When we ask you where Hauggy’s tail is you point to his tail.  When I ask you where my tail is you point to my back.  When we ask you where your tail is you point to your wee wee.  Totally inappropriate, but very funny!
You are really repeating everything we are saying so we have to be very careful about what we say now. Â You kept saying one word in particular. Â It sounded like pass, but you always said it with your arms above your head and very excitedly. Â One day you were saying it over and over again and I finally figured out you were saying, “Surprise!”. Â You were so excited when we figured out what you were saying!
When we ask you how old you are going to be next month you say, “Two!” and hold up one finger on each hand. Â You are very excited about blowing out your birthday candles!
You keep talking about Ho Ho and how you gave him a high five and a hug and said, “Cheese!” with him. Â You were not happy when people started taking down their Christmas lights. Â Lucky for us there is still one Choo Choo left on our street. Â When that comes down we may have problems.
I’m pretty sure you went through your terrible two’s early because this month you’ve really started being a good boy who listens to us. Â You will sit down when we ask you if we can put your shoes on. Â You will go into your room and lay on your changing pad all by yourself. Â We can give you little chores like watering your flowers. Â You love helping out and being praised for doing a good job.
Brayden Bittel, I say it every month, but I’m so proud to be your mom. Â Every time you learn something new or say something new I get so excited for you. Â I love that you are growing up and becoming independent, but I’m scared of the day when you won’t let me hold your hand or give me a moochie when I ask for one. Â For now, I will cherish all of the moochies and hugs, the “Hi, Mama!”s and even the “Hi, Mom!”s. Â Every time you hold my finger in your little hand I will do my best to remember exactly how small your hands are. Â Â I will cherish every last second of you being my baby even if it means changing dirty diapers and cleaning up your messes. Â I just hope you will always know that whatever happens I will love you more than you can ever comprehend.
Love,
Mama
This month you got your own little soccer ball and you love to carry it around the neighborhood. Â Maybe you are going to be a goalie???

Wow!!! I remember you taking our pictures at the Regional Park when you were pregnant with B! Time goes so fast… By the way, I had the same thing with the Mama vs. Mom! Kendall used to love to bug me by saying Mom! But now, she only says Mama (Sydney however has taken to calling me Mommy — weird). Happy Birthday, Brayden! You have a FABULOUS Mama!!!
Thanks, Jen
Just realized that you are Mom*tog’s 2000th comment!

His tail story reminds me of something my little guy did the other day that I could not help but laugh at! For reference my son is 2 1/2. He was pointing out or dogs nose, eyes, ears, teeth, chin, back, paws…then a new one I have never hear him do. He lifted up the dogs tail and said “poop!” HAHAHA what can you do, but smile and laugh!
That’s awesome, Drew! 2000 comments is amazing!
oh, i can’t wait to see what you do for B’s birthday! My daughter just turned two a couple of weeks ago and I had that same realization that she wouldnt be 22 mos, 23 months, etc. anymore that it is now an age like 2 or 2 1/2! They really do grow so fast don’t they?
I linked up to your blog today!

awhhh…I remember the day both my kids started calling me Mom, all big sounding, but I assure you they revert back to Mama when they want something or feel like cuddling. Lot of Love
