My son always wanted an outside baseball/swim party & he's a January birthday-so never happened. Lots of events instead- movies, laser tag, bowling, Harlem Globe Trotters, FIre Station visit.... Nothing dependent on blue sky. I SO wish I could send you some of my creativity- seems only fair since I've gleaned SO much from you! I love & adore making parties none the same. I like to pick a theme around personality or trait in the kiddo rather than what plates I can pick up at Target :) If I could help you I SO WOULD! Here's just a couple of my favorites to see what I mean- For my little guys 1st birthday "You are my Sunshine" because he so is!....all yellows & orange & Sun decor (easy). For last years 5 yr old I did "She is The Apple of our Eye"- all apples, apple shapes, apple stamped totes, apple-jacks braclets. Red, Bright pink & Green Apple colors. Fun stuff. I love the creative part.... I just know either way, it will be just perfect for B- & a very happy birthday to Mommy too!! I so feel for you & the weather predicament. Quite a statement of emotion among the girls.
