Want To Make a Blogger Blog Less?

Two posts on Wednesday!  How lucky are all of you?

I wish there was a way I could block readers and only let NICE people read my blog.  Unfortunately there isn’t.  And when I get awesome comments like this from Susan it makes me want to quit.  Take down my blog and everything that I’ve shared and just quit.

The lack of postings does suck. I tend to stop visiting blogs that don’t update often in favor of others that are more consistant and put together.

Good luck with your projects.

Dear Susan,

I am so sorry that I have let you down.  I’ll try to do better in the future to be more consistent.  In between running a full time business, being a full time mom, doing mountains of  laundry, hosting play dates, and being a wife I will make sure to post each and every day just for YOU!  I would just hate for you to stop reading my blog…

Love,

Drew

I know I should have a thicker skin, but I can’t help it.  My name is Drew and I’m sensitive and whenever I get a comment like this it stings.  If you want to get a blogger to blog less, leave more comments like this.  It’s not very motivating to know that there are people like this out there reading my blog.

ETA – Thank you for all of your comments and support!  Seriously, you guys amaze me!  I think with over 90 comments the point has been made so I am closing comments for this entry.

Wednesday Already?

I’m the type of person who takes on way too many new projects at once.  I’m working on a new DrewB website, the new Mom*tog shooting guide (which I’m SO excited about), and a top secret new project which (if it happens) I won’t be able to talk about for awhile, but I promise it’s worth the wait!  So, please bear with me if my posting isn’t as regular as normal.  I’m really pushing to get the shooting guide done before Mother’s Day so all of my spare time is going towards that now.  For now, here’s a cute shot from the latest shoot I did for the shooting guide!

PS  The Mom*tog Nike + challenge starts tomorrow!  Sign up if you have a Nike+!

Run, Drew! Run! – An Update

I’ve been running for close to a month now and absolutely love it!  I got my own BOB, which has made running with Brayden a million times easier.  I also got the Nike +, which I can’t live without!  I’m a very competitive person.  When I get tired and want to stop I don’t because I know my results are going to be tweeted for the whole world to see!  I love how I can also set goals for myself and see my progress.  LOVE it!

I have made so much progress thanks to the Couch to 5K app on my iphone.  When I started I couldn’t run a minute.  I’m not even exaggerating.  Now I can run 6 minutes without stopping!  That’s a huge accomplishment for me!  I’m almost done with week 3 of the program.  I’m really scared for week 4!

I was getting a bit frustrated because while my clothes were fitting better and I was feeling good, I wasn’t seeing any progress on the scale.  Yesterday morning I got on the scale and all of a sudden I had lost 5 pounds!  5 pounds!  That’s crazy!  I know my weight will fluctuate a bit, but it’s so great to see progress after all the hard work I’ve been doing.

Last year I wore a one piece all summer.  It was a cute one piece, but I felt like a granny.

This year I would love to get back into a bikini.  I have a little over 3 months until our trip to Maui and I really think I can do it!

I started a friendly Nike+ challenge for all of us Mom*togs!  If you’re interested in joining go here.  It’s starts on April 1st!

Must Have Wedding Lens

Becky asked:

I’m a new photographer in New Mexico. I LOVE you work and your blog(s). Hope it’s ok to ask a quick question: what is your #1, must have, go-to lens for weddings?

For sure it’s the 70-200 2.8.  It’s a heavy lens and it’s not right for everything.  But, for weddings you need to have a lens where you can get in tight without being in the couple’s face.  I met with a couple who had attended a wedding that I shot and they told me that they never once saw me at the wedding.  And when they saw my pictures they were so impressed that I got such great shots without being in the middle of everything.  That’s a huge compliment!  I don’t want to be seen during a wedding.  The wedding isn’t about me.  I’m not standing in the middle of the aisle blocking the views of the guests.  I’m at the back of the aisle with my 70-200.

I only use this lens at weddings and usually only for the ceremony and parts of the reception (toasts, first dances), but it’s a must have if you want to shoot weddings!

Branglish

Ever since Brayden has started talking he’s had a secret language that only I and a few other privileged people could understand.  I call it Branglish.  I love Branglish, but sadly, I think English is finally starting to take over.

Brayden said “Ha” instead of yes for a long time.  Over a year.  Finally he started to say yes more frequently until “Ha” disappeared.  But, he now says, “Yes, please”, which I just love!

He also said “Come” instead of “Thank you”.  I think he heard “You’re welcome” and said that instead.  Even when we said, “Say thank you” he would still say, “Come!”.  Last week he finally started saying thank you.  So sad :(

My other favorite Branglish word was “Gaca”, which was short for his favorite movie of all time Madagascar.  Just this past weekend he finally started to say Madagascar.  His speech therapist Nana was working on that one :)

So sad to see Branglish go, but I love my polite little man who speaks English.  I love all the pleases and thank yous.  My favorite is when he does something wrong and before I even say anything to him he says, “Sorry, Mama” with a pouty lip.  How could I be mad at that?
