I have the Tamron 28-75 2.8 and love it. I rented the canon Canon 24 – 70 2.8 and I couldn't believe how heavy it was and it is 1200. I am starting photography and the tamron works very well. I have the Canon rebel t1i and maybe one day I will upgrade ;)

Thanks for the inspiration and for sharing your professional opinoin in a very laid back way. I love your St. Patty's Day pics with your son baking with you. Looks like you have some great natural light coming through your kitchen! Beautiful!

Which lens did you use for the Green Cupcake pictures? Was that the Canon 24 – 70 2.8? Does 2.8 get a good fuzzy background?

Great post as usual. I also want to add that for a budget friendly alternative, the Tamron 28-75 2.8 has been rated extremely comparable (some have rated it even better) to the Canon 24-70L in hundreds of reviews and it's weight and durability is impressive too for it's <$500 price tag.

I want the 24-70mm so bad! I'm saving up my money now for it, I had debated on getting just the 24mm but I was reading some of your posts about using it the 24-70 and decided I had to have it. Thank you again for taking the time to answer questions and post awesome photos!

I have been toying with the idea of buying a nikon 24-70mm lens and I was just so overwhelmed by the price. I just rented the 24-70mm 2.8 and I loved it! I am so glad that I rented it. It just confirmed the fact that I want to purchase it. Now it is time to save up!!!
