Want To Make a Blogger Blog Less?
Two posts on Wednesday! How lucky are all of you?
I wish there was a way I could block readers and only let NICE people read my blog. Unfortunately there isn’t. And when I get awesome comments like this from Susan it makes me want to quit. Take down my blog and everything that I’ve shared and just quit.

The lack of postings does suck. I tend to stop visiting blogs that don’t update often in favor of others that are more consistant and put together.

I am so sorry that I have let you down. I’ll try to do better in the future to be more consistent. In between running a full time business, being a full time mom, doing mountains of laundry, hosting play dates, and being a wife I will make sure to post each and every day just for YOU! I would just hate for you to stop reading my blog…

I know I should have a thicker skin, but I can’t help it. My name is Drew and I’m sensitive and whenever I get a comment like this it stings. If you want to get a blogger to blog less, leave more comments like this. It’s not very motivating to know that there are people like this out there reading my blog.
ETA – Thank you for all of your comments and support! Seriously, you guys amaze me! I think with over 90 comments the point has been made so I am closing comments for this entry.

That is absolutely the worst, most insensitive comment I have ever read. Do not let it bother you – YOU are amazing and so helpful and so generous with your tips, photos, etc.. Keep doing what you’re doing (including launching new initiatives and leading a joyful F-U-L-L life). I will continue to read each and every post. Whenever they arrive.
That is just not nice! I think that it’s about the quality of the blogger’s posts, definitely not the quantity. And you lady, have got the quality!!! So what if the quantity dwindles a little during busy times. I too have you in my reader and when you have a post, I read it all!! But, when you don’t I figure that you’re out there in the world, leading your life and learning all the wonderful things that you share with us! Let me just say, Thank you for all that you share!
Dear Susan,
Why don’t you use a wonderful tool called Google Reader or some other feed reader, then you can read your updated blogs whenever they’re updated? You don’t have to worry about visiting a blog that is not updated *for you* and *wasting* your valuable time. And then you don’t have to leave such negative comments for people who *give* you their time by blogging and giving such helpful advice.

I absolutely love, love, love your blog. I have learned soo much from it. It is absolutely amazing that you can keep up with everything that you do. I am not quite sure how you do it all. I tell you- I can’t. I tried to have a blog for my husband’s business, work on his website, work full time and keep up with my 7 year old, as well as keep up with things I like to do- like taking pics. I can’t do it and you do an amazing job at it!!!! Can’t praise enough. I am looking forward to your new guide! Thank you very much for sharing all that you share- I thought just last week- I don’t know how she blogs this much!
People like Susan need to join the digital age and link up with Google Reader or the like which tells them when their favorite sites update instead of wasting their lives clicking through all the sites multiple times a day. This isn’t your fault, it’s hers. Their are ways around her problem without attacking people who are doing her a service.

Your true fans love everything you give to your readers (and we realize it is A LOT). I have a thin-skin as well so I know lame comments will continue to bother you … but MOST of us out here are so thankful for your adorable/helpful blog and we appreciate the time you are able to give to us. Girl, you are super-mom/wife/businesswoman/photographer, and we all love you for putting your life out there for us. DOWN WITH THE HATERS!

I took a blog down because I also have thin skin. Your blog is awesome, I’m not a mom, but I’m a HUGE fan. It’s one of my top blogs on my google reader. My cousin is a mom and a ‘tog who is SO inspired by you and has begun blogging BECAUSE of you! http://mommyblog-babymomma.blogspot.com/ Her photos just keep getting better because of you.
Delete the bad comments, let them go and keep these ones. Maybe print them out and post them near your computer.

Hey Drew! I must admit, I am an avid blog stalker of MomTog… I check it daily, even multiple times a day. And when there is a new post, it is almost like receiving a present. The posts are worth the wait!!! Thank you for all that you do for us Momtogs out there. I appreciate it!!! I am sure there are a million people (I tend to exaggerate, but it may be close)out there who love you and Momtog. As for Susan, not a big loss! Keep rockin’ it Drew!
WOW I cant believe someone would write that. Its not like she is paying to get your postings so what does it matter to her. I am just beginning in photgraphy and I will take all the tips you give whether its 7 days a week or just 1. Sometimes there are just things in our life that takes us from our blogs or sometimes I just dont feel like it. You dont owe anything to anyone so keep up with the good job your doing!!

aw, what a stingy butt. that person obviously has way too much time on her hands. she should get a family. or maybe start paying attention to the one she has. i certainly don’t mind a lack of posting from time to time… i’m guilty of it myself.
besides, my feed reader automatically updates me whenever one of my subscriptions posts something new, so i never miss a post and i never miss out when you don’t post.

Oh Drew…that is seriously too bad. It’s really sad to me that as a grown adult she could be so completely self-absorbed to think that type of comment is appropriate to leave. Obviously this blog (or any blog) is an extension of the blogger and I think you do an amazing job of balancing all your roles! I so appreciate your blog and think of reading any blog that brings me joy as a gift, not something I’m due. I also got a rude insensitive comment this week and it hurt my feelings and put me in a bad mood for the whole day. When you blog, you wear your heart on your sleeve and it’s quite rude for someone to behave in that manner. Just remember that she speaks only for herself and not for anyone who actually appreciates your blog and understands what a Mom*Tog IS – a MOM first and a photographer second. (Not to mention a wife, daughter, friend, sister, BLOGGER LAST.)

Don’t let people like Susan get to you. I would much rather read a QUALITY blog that gets updated infrequently than one that posts every time the wind blows with JUNK. You ROCK Drew!
You know what Drew…I think your post quality is great. I post to my blog once, maybe twice a week. I read a lot of blogs and very few people post everyday, so don’t worry about nay-Sayers like Susan. Screw them!
You blog is amazing. I feel like I have grown a lot as a photographer thanks to your postings. I even have you as one of my favorite blogs on my “inspirations” page of my blog.
It is easier to focus on the negative rather than the positive because the negative stirs up more feelings and emotions than the positive. But just keep in mind how many people love your blog and give you comment “love”, don’t focus on idiots like Susan who thinks the world revolves around them and only want to point out negative things.
Susan- Shame on you! That was completely uncalled for. Most people quit following a blog if it is never or rarely updated, so don’t act like you are the exception instead of the majority. Learn when a comment is necessary and when it isn’t. Rather than posting that on Drew’s blog you should have written her a letter or just left well enough along. Next time…wait…hopefully there won’t be a next time.
Oh heavens, Ms. Susan mustn’t know what it is to be busy. Sheesh. Don’t pay mind to her hun. If she wants to leave, let her go. You don’t need followers like that ;o)

Wow, I didn’t know that Susan was paying you entertain her and and give her the latest and greatest Momtog info/advice/fun stuff! If she thinks you don’t post often enough, then she can good ahead and move on to another blog, but she has no need to be sassy about it. Her loss.

Wha!!?? Holy cannoli. Seriously, some people. I love your blog and am eager for every post, but that does not mean that I demand them. WE (your fan base)understand that you have a life that exist off the computer, well at least away from the blog. As most of use are mommies as well, we understand the daily task of caring for a young child. Please do not let a Susan discourage you from doing what makes you happy. When Susans try to tear your spirits down remember that WE are reading and appreciate EVERY post that you make. I, for one, enjoy post that are not every day matters, as I don’t need to know your every step and activity of every day!

You don’t owe anyone anything. This a blog, it’s something you do when you have the time to do. You decide when and what to post. Don’t feel pressured to post all the time then it will become not fun anymore.
