Wedding Attire

I’ve been a bad blogger.  You know I’m very busy when I’m not blogging!  That’s what 4 shoots in 6 days and getting ready to go out of town will do to you!  I’ve been a bad Formspringer too.  From now on I will probably start taking some of the questions I get over there and answering them here.  Today’s question is:

What’s your normal attire when shooting a wedding?

I always wear all black (or at least dark colors) to weddings.  I want to blend into the background and not stand out like a sore thumb in their wedding video or their guests pictures.  I try to make it fun by wearing cute shoes that are a bright color.  I always try to look cute at weddings, but at the end of the day I’m a sweaty, frizzy haired mess.  But, it’s not about me anyways, right?  I don’t try to wear heels or skirts.  For me it’s about comfort and practicality.  I’m climbing on chairs, laying on the ground, and running all over the place.  I want to be comfortable while looking professional.

I don’t really have too many pictures of me shooting.  I usually delete all the ones my second shooters take because I look like a dork ball.  I do have one that’s my absolute fav.  Taken at 36 weeks pregnant.

I actually love seeing photographers that are in the moment. Its kinda like seeing the magic behind the shot. I think, “Oh! That’s how you did that!”

Drew you are soooo awesome! I am saving up my money so hopefully one day I can fly from boring old Indiana to California and have “A Day With Drew”. :) Have a fun and safe trip.

cute pic!!!! and it’s taken by Jasmine Star! Lucky girl! Does that mean she was your second shooter? Or you were her second shooter?

  10. That is an awesome picture! The contrasts between you and the bride (light and dark, bride and mother) are great. The silhouette of your belly is beautiful. And you’re in action! Everything about it is perfect.

And you look SO adorable preggo! I love this shot and its motivating me a lot as I have an Easter mini session (too many kids for such a long time :D !) this week at 35 weeks pregnant and I am not feeling like I will be my normal self!! Each moment I doubt myself, I will think of you :D ! Just the encouragement I needed! Thanks Drew!
