I Did Something Crazy…

If you know me, you know that I’m not a very spontaneous person.  I think things through very carefully and only take calculated risks.

So, I was a little surprised at myself yesterday when I made the biggest decision with my business since I quit my full time job.  I signed a lease for a studio / office space.  It’s something that I’ve been wanting to do for a long time.  A dream, really.  Of course I’ve been doing research for months.  Trying to find the best deal and the perfect spot.  I’ve had my eye on this building since it was built a few years ago.  I’ve looked at a couple of units, but they were too expensive or there was too much work that needed to be done.  Last week I finally got the courage to call another unit and made an appointment to see it.  I wanted to hate it.  But, I didn’t.  It was perfect.  So I signed the lease and now I have my very own studio!

It wasn’t totally spontaneous, but I feel like it happened really fast.  I’m scared out of my mind!  It’s hard to go from practically  having no overhead to having a big rent check to write every month.  But, I know to expand my business the way I want to expand it, this is the right thing to do.  Well, I hope.  I’ll never know if I don’t try, right?
