Brotherly Love

As a mom to two cute kiddos now, I so badly want to capture the interaction between Kennedy and Brayden.  The problem is that the 3 1/2 year old doesn’t quite understand how fragile the 7 week old is.  He loves to hold her, kiss her, and “pet” her.  He’ll hold her for a few seconds then say how heavy she is and just drop her.  Luckily, my hands are never far away, but if I’m taking pictures I have to decide which one I want to save – the camera or the baby?  Tough choice, right?  Needless to say, I don’t bring out the camera too much when big brother is around.

I very rarely get a decent shot of the two of them.  I’m hoping when she’s a little older they will be able to interact better together.

I love this shot:

But, usually Kennedy looks scared to death when her brother gets too close to her :)

shane and kennedy can go to therapy and talk about how their older siblings mauled and dropped them constantly.

I TOTALLY understand!!! I too thought it would be easier when they got older, but right now at 15 months and 4 years old they don’t sit still. Ha! I just blogged about this last night on my personal blog….nicknews.sethnick.com

just wanted to let you know that capturing pictures of two siblings as a mom gets so much easier as the little one gets older! i had the same challenge when my little one was a baby (and i wanted to capture them together soooo badly). with each month it’s gotten easier!

I have a 3 1/2 yr old (a Brayden as well) and a 4 month old and every time B tries to hold the baby he tells me how “heavy” he is. I had to laugh at your post!

My daughter is 2 and the new baby is due to arrive in 11more weeks, I wish I could get a newborn shot of her holding him so bad!! I’m thinking can at least get a picture or her holding him on my husbands lap and just hope Amber’s right and it gets easier. As good as she is with her baby dolls I don’t think I can trust a toddler with a newborn, even if its only for a split second.

haha! I totally understand! Even now, my Kennedy is almost 3 and Bristol is one, it is still SO hard to get a shot of them together! These images are precious and your Kennedy looks just like her big brother to me!
