@momtog

Hello poor, neglected blog!  Well, actually not that neglected.  I’ve been posting regularly on the Real Families page, which is where my professional work can be found.  It’s hard to find the time for blogging nowadays though.  I’m sure you Mom*togs can relate, right?  I barely have time for a potty break, let along sitting down at my computer and putting together a complete sentence!  I’ve found Instagram to be the place where I am sharing my random thoughts and pictures.  Because it’s easy.

It’s funny how bad situations can turn into great situations sometimes.  The nice lady who had the Mom*tog Instagram handle recently gifted it to me.  I wanted to make it different, not just another feature account.  Because I don’t like to do the same thing everyone else is doing.  If you copy someone else that’s just being lazy.  And if you don’t do the research beforehand, well then, that’s just irresponsible.  In the 6 years I’ve been in business I have had my fair share of copycats and even people who outright steal my work.  And when you put your heart and soul into building a brand you get pissed when someone tries to ride your coattails.  I think that’s a fair reaction, don’t you?

So the idea behind the Mom*tog Instagram account is similar to my website.  It’s Real Mom*togs sharing their favorite pictures and tips, which is exactly what I have been doing here for 6 plus years.  There is so much talent on Instagram.  So many Mom*togs who are doing rad things.  And they may not have thousands of followers or think they have anything to contribute.  But, the 7 Real Mom*togs who have contributed so far have been amazing.  They have all been vulnerable and a little nervous to share their work, which is what I think makes it even better.  I have even learned things from each of them.

If you haven’t followed along yet, I encourage you to do so @momtog.  These moms are real and awesome and we have made a fun little community over there in the last few weeks.  And if you are already following along, thank you.  Thank you for supporting the OG Mom*tog.  Thank you for supporting originality and the hard work it takes to build a business.  You are so appreciated!

Here are some of my favorite pictures from our Real Mom*togs:

    Love the momtog account like WOAH. I’m legit learning a TON. And unlike some other “feature account” it’s a safe space to do just that –LEARN and grow. And be supported and supportive. Thank you drew- for creating such an amazing space.

    And I recently took the momtog course. And can I just say I’m embarrassed about how much I learned! That back button focus (which I’m still learning) has been a game changer.

    Also. Your classy. And I happen to like that ;)
